Tasting - Veleta Brut Vino Espumoso Rosado

Name: Veleta Brut Vino Espumoso Rosado
Variety: Tempranillo
Region: Granada
Country: Spain
Year: NV
Price: $3.95

Winery review: Rosé salmon with copper reflections. Slow rising fine bubble that forms “lace” and “rosary”. In the nose is complex and elegant with red fruit, citric, exotic, fresh flowers, and notes of dry fruits and dry flowers. Fresh, gentle, and alive. Perfectly integrated “perlage” with serious and subtle flavors of dry fruits, pomegranate and lemonade. Long lasting scent of flowers and herbs.

My Review: The wine was a pale pink, like the name states "rosado". The nose was interesting. I couldn't put the smell into words, it was just weird. The description mentions pomegranate and I've never had pomegranate so maybe it does smell like that. The nose was musty and unappealing. The taste contained many tannins making it taste acidic and bitter. I could see it tasting a littie like lemonade beacuse of the citrus flavor.

I did not have it with any food.
